Powering the Arches cluster down and back up

Powering down and back up Arches

  • Log in to node 1.

  • Execute:
sudo clrun "/sbin/shutdown -h now" all 

  • Verify that the systems have powered off (in about 30-90 seconds)

  • On node 1 execute:
      sudo /sbin/shutdown -h now 
  • To turn off the UPS, hold down the Power button (the one with the circle)

  • The ethernet switch can be unplugged if it needs to be powered off.

Powering arches back up

  • Turn on the UPS (if off) - hold down the Power button (circle button)

  • Power on all the nodes starting with node 1 in at least a 10 second delay.

  • Verify that busynode shows all the hosts up about 2 minutes after last system boots.
