Condor Deployment Status

This is a rough outline of the status of our Condor Deployment Plans. For more information, you can take a look at what CONDOR tickets exist in our database.

Completed:

• Setup a Condor server for testing
• Create a suite of test calculation jobs using Gaussian
• Further configuration of the Condor server
• Testing the Condor Windows client
• Deploying the Condor Windows client on the STC machines
• Writing documentation for job submission
• Creating a dedicated grid computing server (alatar)
• Creating a Gaussian deployment job with the test calculations
• Creating a web frontend for Condor (EasyCondor)
• Setting up SMB filesharing for job data on alatar

Working on:

• Getting a copy of Gaussian for Windows and Mac OS X
• Getting Kerberos authentication configured for EasyCondor
• Testing Condor with PVM and MPI jobs
• Benchmarking Gaussian on machines to determine prioritization order

Future:

• Collecting input files from professors
• Integration of Condor with LINDA
